About the program
This one-year graduate program is offered jointly by Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and Western's Faculty of Health Sciences.
The program teaches you to address global health challenges, focusing on health equity and marginalized populations.
You'll develop project management and grant writing skills, and experience an immersive summer field school and internship in Africa that prepares you to tackle real-world health systems issues.

Program details
Requirements
- Educational background: a four-year degree from an accredited university
- Grade requirement: at least a 70% average across courses taken in the last two full-time years of the undergraduate degree
- Equivalent qualifications: Equivalent qualifications may be considered based on the standards of the discipline or profession
- Interest in global health: Applicants must demonstrate a strong interest in global health and in working with equity seeking groups (under-served populations).
English language proficiency
- TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 86 (no section below 20). [Western’s TOEFL ID: 0984]
- IELTS Academic: Minimum score of 6.5 out of 9
- Duolingo English Test: Minimum score of 115
- CAEL Assessment: Minimum score of 60
- Western English Language Centre: Completion of the High-Advanced level
- Fanshawe College ESL Program: Graduation from Level 10 (English for Academic Purposes) with at least 80% in all components
